In reading some of the comments to the blogs, it sounds like the consensus is that they'll never learn.

"Save us from ourselves" seems to be the Timorese mantra.

Have things quieted down now that Reinado is no longer under threat of attack?

It saddens me to talk to some of my NGO co-workers, who at one time were described as Bleeding-Heart Tree Huggers. Now to talk to them, they sound like hardened military who think all the trouble-makers should be shot on sight. Amazing what 18 months in East Timor can do to a person's perspective on the local population.

I hope that you and your better half keep your heads down, least you be mistaken for those horrible Aussie invaders from the South!

Reformed Tree-HuggerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883208935366086650.post-72625945017270456212007-03-07T06:08:00.002+09:002007-03-07T06:08:00.002+09:00Dear FOS, When did the Dili Club move? Do I take that as "no news is good news' or have you all gotten the hell out of that madhouse? Daughter is sadly closing down her office, packed and awaiting word of the imminent evacuation. Damn those scrotes. Worried MamaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
